Thai Bloom supports the Portland Rose Festival Foundation’s Hope Reigns Auction

Thai Bloom is proud to answer the call for help and support the Rose Festival’s annual auction Fundraiser. As Portlanders, we understand the impact on how The Portland Rose Festival has been on our lives. Its annual Rose Festival traditions have united the Portland community to celebrate The Rose City for more than a century. The festival’s mission-based events and programs highlight outstanding local high school students with the Rose Festival Court. Promote the arts and volunteerism with three parades featuring marching bands, dancers, flower-decked equestrians, and rolling works of art – the parade floats themselves, and its Waterfront activities create a space for family fun. After two years of inactivity, the Foundation needs everyone’s help to build a runway to Portland’s biggest Rose Festival reunion in 2022. Let’s all support its cause, so our younger generation can enjoy a better Festival with unforgettable memories by checking out the items up for bid in the Hope Reigns Auction, starting October 6, 2021. Bidding will continue for a full week, culminating with a live stream broadcast on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.

Thai Bloom In-House Delivery Service vs Third-Party Deliveries

Here are a few things to consider before ordering from a third-party delivery company

Being able to receive your take-out order from a restaurant directly to the comfort of your home is the most convenient way for anyone now these days. When it comes down to delivery services, third-party deliveries are the first thing that popped into your mind, but restaurants now these days do have their own delivery services.

We Thai Bloom! Yes, we do also have our own in-house delivery service available to you at any time.

Our guests are often surprised when discovering the turbulence Thai Bloom and many restaurants have experienced with third-party delivery services. In fact, many guests have chosen never to use GrubHub and any other third parties after hearing the type of service we can offer and provide to them.

Why Should You Place a Delivery Order Directly from Thai Bloom!?

When ordering through Thai Bloom’s delivery service, customers are guaranteed to receive our highest standards for quality control and timely deliveries. Our delivery drivers are an integral part of our team and were interviewed and adequately trained for the position. In-person interviews are often not required for third-party drivers because they are essentially contractors. Our team is well trained, informed, and consistent in maintaining our restaurant’s quality standards; they are compassionate, highly invested in Thai Bloom’s goal, which our guests do come first. Thai Bloom drivers check every order before leaving the restaurant, whether it be a single meal or a large catering order. Sadly, we cannot guarantee that third-party delivery drivers will do the same. Thai Bloom’s delivery team has an excellent track record of delivering orders, and we intend to keep it that way.

Third-Party Delivery Services Have Hefty Fees

  • Many of our customers are shocked to find out that their tips never reach Thai Bloom nor Thai Bloom’s staff when they tip through third-party delivery services.
  • When ordering from third-party services, our restaurants make much less profit than direct orders due to the extra surcharged fees for every sale place through Third-parties.
  • Third-party delivery services not only add hefty fees to restaurants, but they are adding the fee to customers as well, which as a customer, you end up paying more than you would if you would order directly from us.
  • Many restaurants price their food higher to compensate for the fees from third-party deliveries. For those looking for smaller delivery fees and ways to support local restaurants, ordering direct is the best option.

Quality Service

  • Quality Service is always better straight from the source in modifying, customizing, removing specific ingredients, or adding sauces to any orders. We offer these specific features for you to select when ordering from us.
  • The modifier features are also built into many third-party delivery services. They are not always reliable, and issues can arise when trying to customize orders through third-party apps, and your notes will be missing.
  • The Thai Bloom app and online ordering forms are easy to navigate, and customized orders are intuitive.
  • Ordering directly through Thai Bloom, customers don’t have to wait for third-party drivers to pick up their order.
  • Our drivers are well trained on our menu items and maintain high standards for quality as they deliver food straight from our kitchen to the customer’s front door.
  • Any follow-up calls made by the customer about the order go straight to our restaurants versus a third-party provider.

In all, ordering directly from Thai Bloom through our app or online will ensure you will receive quality and timely food. There’s assurance in supporting local businesses instead of a giant corporate intermediary. Remember that if you download our app and join our rewards program, every order will count toward future savings. Always feel free to contact us with questions or concerns about orders.

Meet Aum Bowers.

“I remember going to the market to find food I liked and then asking my grandma to teach me how to make it. I grew up in the Isaan province. I was Grandma’s helper in the kitchen, but I was pretty lazy at first. She kept encouraging me to cook and learn with her and over time I grew to love it. I worked at a Thai restaurant for a while and then moved to Oregon to work at a restaurant in Portland. While working there, I met my husband. He worked in an office above the restaurant and quickly became a regular customer. After the restaurant closed, we got married and he helped start Thai Bloom with my uncle, Sayan. Since then, we have started a family of our own!”

Aum is a chef at the NW Portland location and has been a key member of our team since the beginning!

Meet Luna (Pen Promwongsa).

Luna

“Before cooking, I was a bartender in Thailand. There I met my husband Sayan (co-founder of Thai Bloom). When we met, it was electric– I’d walk over to the kitchen to check him out and see him already looking at me! He worked the kitchen and I worked the bar. When we got married, Sayan recieved opporunities to travel off-and-on, and cook around the world. I stayed behind for those first years. But, when the time came to move to Oregon, we knew we had to do it together, all in!”

Luna is the Head Chef at our Beaverton location, helping keep the ship sailing smooth. As you can see by her effortless and confident posture, she was a model back in Thailand.

Meet Aui (Wilaiwan Muangrat).

“I met Per when we worked at a restaurant together in Bangkok. Little did we know we would get married and move to Oregon. We are happy to be here, working and raising our daughter.”

Aui is a chef at our NW Portland location. She’s married to Per, one of our Beaverton chefs. We are thankful for her contribution to the Thai Bloom family.

Meet Mamm (Nipaporn Thongyou), a chef at our Beaverton location!

Mamm

“After moving from Northern Thailand to Bangkok, I worked at a restaurant for 13 years. Friends at Thai Bloom recruited me to come to the US and cook. My husband was fully supportive and said that wherever I went, he would follow. He even started learning how to work in the kitchen so he could work at Thai Bloom too! That’s how we do life together.”

Meet Aa (Nanthanit Pochai).

Aa

“I am fulfilling my dreams. I have loved cooking Thai food since I was a child. When I graduated from high school in Thailand, I took a job cooking and stayed for 16 years. When Thai Bloom was starting up, I was recruited by a friend to move to the US and join the Beaverton kitchen. That was almost 7 years ago now!”

If you’ve had our Chicken Satay, then you’ve tasted Aa’s skilled cooking. Aa is an indispensable chef at the Beaverton location and brings contagious joy to the kitchen.
